Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences

School of Business and Social Sciences is a broad business school and one of the four main academic faculties at Aarhus University. The school holds the distinguished AACSB and EQUIS accreditation.

With approx. 14,000 full-time students, several thousand part-time students, almost 300 PhD students and more than 500 faculty members, School of Business and Social Sciences ranks among the largest business schools in Europe. Furthermore, it is the largest business and social sciences unit in Denmark at university level with a broad academic base, encompassing both traditional business disciplines and social science discplines.

About the Department of Business Administration

Department of Business Administration is part of School of Business and Social Sciences which holds the distinguished AACSB and EQUIS accreditation. It employs approximately 120 researchers, PhD students, research associates and 14 administrative staff, and is headed by Karen Brunsø. The department teaches and carries out research into marketing and organisation and has a strong international focus in our research and degree programmes.

The knowledge available at the department is therefore shared with a wide audience at seminars and workshops and the media. Staff members are widely used as speakers at industry conferences and they keep in close contact with industry. Department of Business Administration is moreover an international workplace with more than 18 different nationalities doing research together.

About Strategy & Organizational Behaviour Research Group

We engage in graduate and postgraduate curriculum development and fundamental and applied research within two classic scientific disciplines of Business Administration namely organizational behavior and strategy.
We address organizational agents, routines, acts and means enabling organizational renewal and change required for effective performability and long-term survivability - activities that are all rooted in Organizational Behavior and Strategy.  
As being part of this research group, and in relation to WP3 of OI-NET, we will contribute primarily with existing case studies on open innovation and utilise our existing network of firms to gather best practices.

 

About the OI-NET Team at Aarhus University:

Dr. René Rohrbeck
René Rohrbeck is Associate Professor of Strategy. His research interests are innovation management, corporate foresight, organizational change, and strategy as practice. His research has been published in R&D Management, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, Futures, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and in several books, including “Corporate Foresight: Toward a Maturity Model for the Future Orientation of a Firm”.

René Rohrbeck has 6 years of practical experience in the ICT and automotive industry, where he worked for Deutsche Telekom and Volkswagen on strategic management, innovation management and corporate foresight. In addition he has served as a consultant for various companies in the ICT, automobile, luxury goods and energy industry. René teaches strategic management, innovation management, corporate foresight and technology management on MBA, Master and Bachelor level. He has been teaching at the University of Kiel, Hanken School of Economics and Technische Universität Berlin.

Tymen Jissink
Tymen Jissink is a PhD fellow at the department of Business Administration at Aarhus University, Denmark. His research interests arencorporate foresight, innovation management, and strategic management. His current research focuses on the reasons to engage in corporate foresight for organizations, as well as how corporate foresight contributes to innovation performance to attain sustainable competitive advantage
