The Faculty of Management (FM) is a member of the University of Primorska (UP). It is a higher education institution for education and research in the fields of social sciences and business management.  In addition to education and research, the basic activities of the faculty are providing consultancy to companies and other organisations, publishing and library activities and organisation of international conferences.
We develop undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes on the basis of our own and foreign research, by taking into account the concept of lifelong learning. The study programmes are internationally comparable and encourage student mobility and flexibility. We believe that in today's world knowledge has become the most valuable asset which needs to be constantly developed and upgraded.


We co-operate with higher education and other educational and research institutions on the regional and national level, as well as internationally. We have established international co-operation with different higher education institutions. We have a very well developed international teacher and student mobility. Additionally, co-operation has been promoted through research projects, summer schools and international conferences.
So far, more than 4,500 students have graduated from the Faculty, 2,000 undergraduate and 2,500 graduate students. At the moment it has 1000 undergraduate and 700 postgraduate students. The faculty employs more than 80 higher education lecturers and researchers and 35 professional associates.

For the OI-net project is responsible Borut Likar. He is a Full Professor at the University of Primorska–Faculty of Management where he also worked as a Research & Development Vice-Dean and head of Department for innovation and technology. He is also a Managing Director of the Institute for Innovation and Technology. Dr. Likar achieved his PhD at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
He is mainly focused on management of creativity, innovation processes, R&D and technology. He developed a comprehensive concept of a national society of innovative youth and was invited to present it at the United Nations’ and at the Closing Conference of the European Year of Creativity in Stockholm. Moreover, Likar is the author of hundreds of scientific and professional publications. He is an innovator and a recipient of many awards for his innovations also a golden medal at the most important innovation fairs in Korea and Kuwait. In addition, he has received many other sound invention medals and awards worldwide (Germany, Poland, Croatia, Nigeria, Slovenia). He also received the "Prometheus of Science for Excellence in Communication" awarded by the Slovenian Science Foundation and the business results based award "Mind of Primorska" and the "Award of Merit" by the largest Slovenian association of innovators ASI as well as Certificate of Best Presenter Award - "The International Business, Finance & Economics Research Conference. Furthermore, he is the initiator and the head of over 100 successful basic research, applied, technological and other national and EU projects.
In addition, he is the author of ten patents, countless models and copyright works, many of which proved to be extremely marketable. He is the founder of the national association of innovative youth. He is also active as an evaluator of the EU projects, guest speaker, reviewer of scientific publications, and a chair/editor of numerous (inter)national scientific conferences and publications. Among numerous lectures he has given, the talks at the United Nations’ headquarters in Geneva and at the European Parliament in Brussels were met with a particularly wide response.
